Viollin Coach
Suzanne Harner is a local Celtic fiddle player from Atlanta, Georgia. She is a former champion Irish step dancer from Cregan O’Brien school of Irish dance and has earned her Irish music teacher certificate (TTCT) from Dublin, Ireland with Comhaltas in 2012.
Falling in love with Irish fiddle in her middle school years, Suzanne has studied different styles of Irish fiddle with a myriad of master fiddlers in the Southeast and Ireland. She was also a founding member of the Atlanta Junior Ceili Band. After a successful CD launch titled Fuar with her band Music In The Glen, she performed on the TV Broadcasted Emory’s Celtic Christmas and with the Atlanta Pop Symphony Orchestra for the Filmography of Celtic Woman: Believe at the Fox Theater in Atlanta. She was the Concert Master of the Milton High School Orchestra and has won several Feisanna fiddle competitions. Currently Suzanne is one of the lead instructors for the Atlanta Irish Music School where she teaches and promotes quality traditional Irish music to children, teens, and young adults in Metro Atlanta, GA. She also performs with several local groups such as the Border Collies and The Celtic Company. Lately, she has been working on mastering different styles such as old-time and bluegrass.
Working with younger students has become a passion of hers due in part to her natural ability to connect with children as a strong advocate and leader. Suzanne thoroughly enjoys teaching and playing fiddle with young inspired students who love making fun, expressive, and rhythmic toe-tapping Folk music!
